Qualification:
Full-time B Tech/BE degree in Engineering and Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Materials Management (Full time/Part-time) or equivalent with a minimum of 60% & above/CGPA (6 & above on the scale of 10) from a recognized Board/University/Institute approved by AICTE.
Essential Experience:
- The Candidate must have a minimum of 16 years of experience (post completion of BE/BTech Degree as on 14.02.2025) in a company having annual turnover of Rs. 3000 crore or more (in any of the last 3 financial years), and:
- The candidate should have at least 10 years of domain experience in Contracts & Procurement function in a large industry like Petroleum Refinery/Petrochemical/Polymer Complex/Hydrocarbon unit.
- Strong technical expertise in C&P process/methods/tools.
Desired Skills:
The role of the incumbent includes:
- Conversant with EPC/EPCM, Line-Item mode of the tendering process i.e. preparation of tenders and evaluation of Bids, etc.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies.
- Formulate negotiation strategies with related vendors and suppliers to secure profitable deals with best quality and lower prices.
- Develop, maintain global strategic supplier relationships.
- Generate new sources for procurement aligned with strategic direction.
- Proactively, build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including suppliers.
- Identify improvement opportunities and take timely corrective actions.
- Develop and ensure maintaining suppliers' database, by overseeing profiles development to ensure suppliers' availability when required.
- Oversees the initiation and management of all contracts' terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders in the identification of unsatisfactory areas related to vendors' services and find improvement solutions accordingly.
- In-depth knowledge of packages/equipment of a Petrochemical/Process plant, its suppliers and lead time of delivery.
- Plans, organizes, and manages the works and tender activity for Process/Petrochemical plant.
- Managing diverse contract and procurement activities and aligning with design engineering and ability to fit purchase into the project ecosystem.
- Award purchase orders and contracts.
- Timeliness, accuracy, and adequacy of problem identification, status reporting, and corrective actions.
- Coordination with PMC Consultant and project management teams during project execution to maintain on-time material delivery and supply.
- Meticulously manage all aspects of Contract & Procurement from negotiation to delivery.
- Accountable for approval of Bid-Lists and purchase orders based on Delegation of Authority.
- Participate in prequalification of suppliers as necessary and evaluation of commercial bids.
- Preparation of negotiation strategies and procurement negotiations as appropriate.
- Ensure awards of Contracts and Purchase Orders are in compliance with laid down process/manual.
- Accountable for reviewing and approving suppliers' requests for payment with respect to vendors, ensuring all obligations are met before payment.
- Ensure all Contract and Purchase Order close-out is undertaken in a timely manner, including the resolution of claims as and when required.
- Conversant with e-tendering/SAP ERP modules/Ariba or equivalent Tendering platform for Contracting and Procurement transactions.
- Provide sound advice on specifications and actively takes the lead negotiating high-value contracts.
- Readily take ownership and confidently handle complex/difficult negotiations that may lead to notable cost savings.

- Regular MIS and programme reports.
